What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient approach to wellness and healing that helps you to find balance in an inherently unbalanced world.

Ayurveda focuses on healing and optimizing your body, mind and spirit. Historically, Ayurveda was the primary form of medicine in India, used for all healthcare treatment from surgery to child birth to psychiatry. Today in the West, we primarily use it for prevention, healing the foundations of health and as a support for more serious illnesses.

One of the core concepts of this framework is that you are born in perfect balance and that, over time, imbalances arise as the result of time, your environment and your choices.

By making changes to nutrition, eating habits, digestive health, daily routines, sleep, stress and energy management,  you can steer yourself in the direction of greater balance and deep healing.

One of the key tools to this process is understanding your dosha. This is a Sanskrit word that essentially means "patterns in nature". These patterns show up in the climate, the seasons, the time of day, your time of life, the qualities of food, the characteristics of your body and your mind and so on.

The doshas are an incredibly powerful framework that gives you the power to evaluate yourself and the choices that you make. By understanding what your pattern is and the patterns of your imbalance, you can then choose what brings you into greater balance so that you feel better and can live life to the fullest.
